Lost a big client because I ignored my email automation metrics

Automation's great until it makes you look lazy. Clients can tell when they're getting a template instead of actual attention. That's the trade off with these tools. You trade personal connection for efficiency, and sometimes the client notices. Hope you can win them back with a real conversation.

Have you ever had a friend who thought they were saving time but ended up paying for it later? Buddy of mine runs a small handyman business and thought he'd get clever with automated follow-ups after estimates. Sent this nice little template to a big job client, came off like he didn't even remember their conversation about needing a rushed fix for a leaky roof. Client called him out on it, said it felt like talking to a robot. He spent the next week scrambling to undo that damage, just like you said @emery_white mentioned about losing the personal touch.

Nothing like learning the hard way that auto-pilot's for planes, not sales.
