My home office cleanup actually helped my sales numbers

Getting rid of all the junk on my desk made me way more productive. Did a simple organization project ever boost your business?

Honestly it feels like a bit of a stretch to blame sales on a clean desk. Ngl a lot of other stuff changes day to day that affects your numbers. Maybe you just had a good week with clients or got lucky with a few calls. Tbh I've had my space totally messy and still closed deals just fine. I don't buy that a tidy workspace is some magic fix for business. It might help you feel less stressed but that's about it.

I cleared off about three days worth of coffee cups and random papers yesterday and my numbers were the same as always. I mean it's nice not to hunt for a pen, but to say it caused a sales jump feels like mixing up what happened first. My focus is way more about who I'm calling and what I'm saying than how neat my keyboard area is. A good mood from cleaning might help a tiny bit, but so could good weather or a decent lunch. It just seems like one of those things people link together after the fact when a hundred other small things also changed. I don't see it being a real driver for closing deals, idk.

In my experience, this ties into a bigger pattern where folks latch onto one visible change after success. Like when my neighbor redid his kitchen and swore his life improved, but really, he'd also started sleeping better and cut back on coffee. Your mileage may vary, but I've noticed it's often about feeling organized, which can indirectly boost confidence. A clean desk might set the tone, but it's rarely the only thing moving the needle.
