Quit paying for high end business coaches after a $3500 mistake in 6 months

I hired a guy who charged $1500 a month for 3 months, and all he gave me was generic advice about mindset and hustle. By month 4 my revenue actually dropped 12% because I was too busy in his calls to actually work. Anybody else get burned by a coach who talked big but couldn't give you one actionable step for your specific industry?

Honestly @leodavis, I gotta push back a little here. Most of these contracts are super clear that coaching is for "mindset" and "strategy" not industry specific playbooks, so getting a refund is usually a dead end. Ngl, the real problem is people confuse a coach with a consultant - a consultant gives you the map, a coach just tries to get you to drive faster. Tbh, if you're down 12% after those calls, it sounds like he took your focus off your actual work, which is on you for letting a generic guru steal your time like that.

Did you try asking for your money back or did he have some fine print in the contract that made it impossible?
