Rant: Hustle culture burned me out worse than any slow growth ever could
I spent 2 years chasing quick wins and 80 hour weeks scaling my painting business in Phoenix, and all I got was a maxed out credit card and a crew that hated me. Going back to steady referrals and taking on just 3 bigger jobs per month has me actually profitable and sleeping at night, not sure why everyone pushes the rocket ship approach.

Stop romanticizing slow growth when speed is how you win before the market shifts on you.

Oh wow, this brings back a memory actually. I had this friend who tried to speed through a renovation project on her house before the contractor went out of business. She cut so many corners and ended up with a mess that cost way more to fix later. Sometimes rushing just means you miss the obvious stuff right in front of you. I guess it depends on what you're building and what kind of trouble you're trying to avoid.
