Switched from local flyers to Facebook ads for my store 2 years ago, best move I made
I used to drop $300 a month on printed flyers for the hardware store I manage. They worked okay but I could never track who actually saw them or came in because of them. Back in September 2022 I finally switched to a $200 monthly Facebook ad budget targeting homeowners within 5 miles. First month I saw 12 new faces mention the ad at checkout. Now I spend about $150 and get way better results than those flyers ever gave me. Anyone else make a similar switch from old school marketing to digital and see a real difference?

Read a study that said digital ads have about 3 times the recall rate of print for local businesses, so your numbers make sense.

Local shop owners I've talked to say the same thing. I helped a friend with her boutique a while back and we ran a simple Facebook ad that got way more foot traffic than her expensive newspaper ad ever did. She still keeps a small print ad in the local paper for older regulars, but that's pretty much it. Digital just hits people where they're already scrolling.

Yeah exactly. @lindal13 I bet that recall stat is spot on, people just scroll past print without really seeing it.
