Three years ago in Denver, I fired our biggest client because they were a nightmare to work with.
They made up 40% of our revenue but demanded constant free work and late-night calls. Last month, I saw they went under, and our team just hit our best quarter ever by focusing on better customers. Has anyone else taken a scary financial risk that actually saved their business?

Worst trade deal in history" is a bit much. It was just pizza and some free work, not like your business was about to go under.

Remember firing a client who paid us in "exposure" and leftover pizza from their office. My accountant called it the worst trade deal in history. Took a huge hit that month but replaced them with two smaller clients who actually pay invoices. Sometimes the trash really does take itself out, huh?
