Waited 6 weeks for a simple LLC approval that should have taken 3 days

The state of New York held up my paperwork for 45 days over a missing check box, and I lost out on a $12,000 contract while I sat there refreshing the status page.

Call the state office directly next time and ask for the processing department's direct line. Keep calling every few days until you get someone who can actually check the file by hand. That waiting game is brutal but pushing politely but persistently usually gets things unstuck.

45 days for a missed checkbox? Must be nice to have that kind of time on their hands, clearly they weren't as excited about your 12k as you were. I'm surprised they didn't ask for it notarized in triplicate while they held it hostage.

Ngl I've been there too, that whole "you forgot a tiny box so we'll just sit on your money for weeks" game is so frustrating. @casey682 you're spot on about the notarized thing, I half expected them to ask for a blood sample last time I dealt with it.
