Can we talk about the $400 I spent on a contract I never read and the fight it almost caused
My business partner and I signed a lease for a second location in Tacoma without a lawyer looking at it, and when the landlord kept our deposit over a clause buried on page 7, a friend who does small business law said 'that one sentence cost you four grand.'

So what did page 7 actually say that let them keep it? That is the part that gets me, because a clause like that does not just show up by accident. Did your friend say if that kind of thing would hold up if you fought it in small claims or wherever?
