My lawyer friend was right about that vendor contract clause
She told me to add a termination for convenience clause in our service agreement with that IT firm in Phoenix. I pushed back for 2 months thinking it was unnecessary, then they dropped us with 30 days notice and we had no way to get our data back fast. Anyone else had to learn the hard way that boilerplate clauses actually matter?

Had a buddy who signed a maintenance contract without reading the fine print and ended up paying triple for emergency repairs.

Used to skip the fine print myself. Changed my mind after getting burned once.

Learned that lesson the hard way myself. Once signed up for a gym membership that was basically a lifetime commitment - oops.
