Paid a lawyer $450 to look over a one page lease and it caught a clause that would've cost me thousands
Was about to sign a 2 year commercial lease for my bike shop in Portland and the clause said I had to pay for any repairs to the whole building, not just my unit. Anyone else had a cheap legal review save them from a bad contract?
That whole building repair thing is nuts, like one broken pipe on the third floor and suddenly you're on the hook for it. Good lawyers catch stuff you'd never even think to look for, so $450 is nothing compared to what that clause could've done to you.
