Spent $500 on a lawyer to look over a vendor contract and it was the best money I ever spent
We were about to sign a big deal with a new supplier for our cafe. The contract looked fine to me, but my gut said to get a pro to check it. The lawyer found a clause that would have let them raise prices with only 30 days' notice and no way for us to get out of the deal. We got that changed to a 90-day notice and a clear exit plan. Has anyone else had a contract review catch something that saved them a huge headache?

Honestly, that "gut feeling" is a luxury. Most of us just can't afford a $500 review for every single agreement.

It's the same logic that makes people skip routine car maintenance.

Call it a luxury, but that's just being cheap with your future. Skipping a real review on a car loan or a lease because it costs a few hundred bucks is how you end up paying thousands extra in hidden fees. That "gut feeling" is often just wishful thinking when you're staring at a wall of legal text. A one-time fee to understand a thirty year mortgage is not a luxury, it's basic self defense.
