Spent 6 hours chasing a LLC name that was taken
Spent a whole afternoon picking a name for my side business. Got one I loved. Checked the state website, said it was available. Paid the fee, submitted everything. Got an email 3 days later saying nope, already owned. So I had to start from zero. Has anyone else had the state database show incorrect availability info before?

Yeah the state databases are usually 24-48 hours behind on that stuff, not real time. Next time check the federal USPTO database too even for local businesses since similar names can cause issues.

Yeah I had one name rejected because a church in Ohio had a trademark on it, weirdest thing ever.

Man, same thing happened to me last year with my company name... drove me nuts for days.
