Warning: I thought the $150 LLC filing service was a scam, but it actually worked
I needed to set up an LLC for a side gig selling at markets and almost paid a lawyer $800 in Austin. The $150 online service filed everything with the state in 6 days and my EIN showed up a week later, no hidden fees. Has anyone else skipped the lawyer for a basic single-member LLC, or did I just get lucky?

A buddy of mine did the same thing for his woodworking side hustle and was nervous the whole time. Everything came back right, and he saved enough to cover his first booth fee at the market. The only hiccup was he picked a name that was too close to another one, so the state bounced it once. Filed again and it went through fine.
