A client's offhand comment about drawer slides changed my whole approach
I was installing a kitchen in Denver last month and the homeowner said my soft-close slides sounded 'like a dying cat' lmao. Turns out she was right, I'd been using cheap undermounts forever without noticing the noise. Anyone else had a customer's random criticism actually improve their work?

Had a buddy who used the same grout for every job until a customer asked why his bathroom floor looked 'dusty'. Switched to a different brand and never looked back. Makes you wonder what else we're all just ignoring, right?

Funny you mention that, it reminds me of this painter I knew who swore by the same brand of white paint for years. Turns out it had a slight yellow tint that he just got used to (you know, your eyes adapt). A customer finally pointed it out and he switched to a pure white base. Night and day difference, honestly. It's wild how we can overlook stuff that's literally right in front of us every single day. Makes you wonder what other little things we're just accepting as normal that really aren't.

Same thing happened to me with caulk once... used the same cheap stuff for years until I tried a premium silicone. Never going back now.
