Finally tried that Festool Domino I was skeptical about for 2 years

A buddy at a shop in Portland let me borrow his for a weekend build and I got a whole cabinet face frame done in under 3 hours, so now I'm saving up for one of my own but has anyone else found a good used one locally?

Whoa, you went from total skeptic to full-on believer in one weekend? That's wild, man. I feel like the Domino is one of those tools people either swear by or think is way overpriced, so it's cool you got to actually try it before dropping the cash. For the used market, I'd check Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace in smaller towns outside the city, those seem to have less hype pricing. Have you had any luck finding one yet or still just hunting around?

I see it a little different than you do, @gavinb97. Yeah it's a cool tool for certain jobs, but for weekend warriors or folks doing basic cabinetry, it's just another expensive toy that collects dust. Used market might save you a few bucks, but you're still paying a premium for something that's really only useful if you're building stuff full time.

Three Domino tenons cost about what a full box of pocket screws does, but you can't beat the time savings on joinery. I've seen two used ones pop up on OfferUp near Eugene in the last month under $500, so the deals ARE out there if you're patient. That speed on a face frame is exactly why I think it's worth it even for serious hobbyists.
