I finally fixed a drawer front after 3 do-overs in my shop yesterday
I kept getting a 1/16" gap on the right side no matter how much I adjusted the slides, turned out the drawer box was twisted a hair. Clamped it flat overnight and shimmed the slide mount, now it closes like butter. Anyone else fight with a box that just won't sit square?

Last month I spent 3 hours on a single drawer for a kitchen reno because the box was 1/32" out of square. Same thing - shimmed the slides and it finally worked. Nothing beats that feeling when a drawer glides shut smooth.

Nothing beats that perfect drawer close. I've been there with shimming slides on a cabinet that was just slightly off and it eats up your whole afternoon. Makes you appreciate the simple things when it finally works right though.

Three do-overs? Rookie numbers. I hit five on a bathroom vanity drawer once before I realized I'd been measuring from the wrong side of the tape the whole time. Makes you wonder how we survive the day sometimes, right?
