I was dead set against pocket screws on face frames, then a kitchen in Dayton proved me wrong
Last month I was building a set of upper cabinets for a remodel over in Dayton and I had the face frames all set to go with dowels and glue like always, but the homeowner wanted them hung that Friday so I tried pocket screws on the back side just to save time. Two weeks later I went back to adjust a door and those joints were still rock solid with no movement at all, which is not what I expected from screws into end grain. Has anyone else switched over after years of doing it the hard way, and do you still bother with glue in the pockets or just run them dry?
