Is a track saw really worth the money for a small shop, or did I just get lucky?
I picked up a track saw for around $600 about 8 months back and it has cut my sheet breakdown time enough to say yes. But my old shop teacher says a straight edge and a good circular saw does 90% of the same work for a quarter of the price, and some days I think he's right. The thing I keep going back to is that first week when I cut a wobbly cabinet side on a big box store panel and had to eat the cost and start over. What did you spend on a tool that turned out to be worth it, and what one burned you?
