My back thanked me when I tossed the thick shop mats

Everyone says thick cushy mats are best for standing through long projects. I used them for years but my feet hurt every night. Last month I switched to thin rubber mats on the floor. Now my back feels better and I have more energy. Maybe the popular choice isn't right for everyone.

Guess those "must-have" thick mats were just a pain.

Yeah the "must-have" thing is such a trap. I bought into that hype too and just ended up wrestling with a heavy roll of rubber. What actually worked for me was going way thinner, like a basic travel mat. I can roll it out with one hand and it stays put on my floor. Made me actually want to stretch because I wasn't already annoyed from dragging the thing out.

Ever notice how this happens with everything from kitchen gadgets to phone cases? @drew55 is right, the fancy "upgrade" just makes a basic task harder. Simple usually wins.
