Picked plywood glue over polyurethane for a wet bar top
I had to choose between Titebond III and Gorilla poly for a wet bar in a house near Portland. Went with the Titebond because of water resistance and easier cleanup. Six months later, no delamination or swelling around the sink area. Client spilt wine on it twice and it held up fine. Guy at the lumber yard warned me polyurethane foams up too much for veneered ply. Anyone else stick with PVA for wet spots like bars or kitchens?

So the foaming thing, how much extra time did you have to spend scraping or sanding after the polyurethane applications on previous jobs? I've always wondered if the cleanup time with PVA is a trade-off people factor in differently.

Did your buddy ever try just using a high-grit sanding sponge instead of scraping? I had a friend who spent almost an hour per coat on a table build because the foam was so aggressive he had to go back and level out all these tiny craters. He switched over to a thin, brushed on layer of PVA on his next pour and told me he was done with cleanup in maybe 10 minutes with just a hose and a rag.

Minimum half hour per coat scraping, your mileage may vary.
