My buddy had a regular bring him bagels for a whole week once.

Love that @jamesroberts, it's funny how those small gestures can really stick with you. I've noticed people just seem happier when they bring little treats or gifts, even if it's just a coffee or a bag of chips from the vending machine. It's like a secret handshake that says "you're one of the good ones" without having to say anything at all. Maybe it's just me but those random kindnesses always feel more genuine than the big planned stuff.

It seems like a nice gesture on the surface but I wonder if it puts pressure on the worker. Three days in a row starts to feel like an obligation, not just a friendly surprise. Now the barista might feel they have to act extra grateful or return the favor somehow. Coffee is cheap enough that it probably doesn't mean much to the customer financially, but it can create an awkward dynamic. People shouldn't use small gifts to buy a special connection with service workers who are just doing their job. A simple "thank you" and respectful treatment goes a lot further than a week of free coffee.
