The day my cope and stick bit blew out on a 40-unit kitchen job in Denver
I was halfway through the third pass on a shaker door set for a whole subdivision build when my router bit just EXPLODED. Little carbide chunks flew everywhere and the door panel got all torn up. I had to stop everything, drive 30 miles to the closest woodworking supplier, and pay $75 for a replacement they only had one of. The project ended up taking an extra two days because I had to re-cut that door and re-jig my setup. Has anyone else had a bit fail like that in the middle of a big run? How did you handle the extra cost and lost time?

That "had to re-cut that door" pain is real, I always keep a spare router bit on site now for big runs.

Bought the cheapest bit I could find on a Friday night for a Saturday rush job and it grenaded on the tenth door. Carbide chunks embedded in my face shield and everything. Had to eat the cost of the door and the bit because the customer wouldn't pay for my bad planning. Now I keep a spare in my truck and another in my toolbox just in case the first one decides to self destruct.
