TIL the cabinet shop at the county fair had a dovetail jig running all day and nobody was watching the bit
Stopped by the woodworking demo barn at the Adams County Fair last Saturday and there was a guy running a dovetail jig for like 6 hours straight with the same dull bit. You could smell it burning from the walkway and the pins were coming out fuzzy as all get out. I asked him about it and he just shrugged and said it was a display, not a product. Maybe I'm being picky but if you're showing the trade to a crowd of kids, should the joint at least look clean? Anybody else catch demo booths like this and get twitchy watching it?
