Bought those cheap "pro" compression fittings from Amazon... total junk

Ordered a 50 pack of those no-name compression fittings for $22 last month. First job I used them on, three of them leaked right away during testing. Had to redo the whole line. Spent an extra hour on site and used up my good fittings to fix it. Lost about $80 in labor and materials dealing with that garbage. Anyone else get burned by these knockoff fittings online?

Man that's rough. Cheap fittings always cost more in the long run.

Had a buddy who bought a whole houseful of those cheap brass valves from the big box store. Took him three years before the first one started leaking, and he saved like two hundred bucks upfront. Unless you're building a submarine or a pressure vessel, I really don't think it matters that much for most people's setups.

Oh man, I used to be the exact opposite. I'd grab the cheapest stuff I could find and think I was being smart with money. But hearing about your buddy's three year timeline and that leak really makes me reconsider my whole approach.
