Felt like a rookie after 12 years of stripping coax wrong
Out near Eugene last Tuesday, I had to reterminate a drop on a two story house and for whatever reason I watched my own hands work. I've always used the blade to score and snap the jacket, and I realized I was nicking the braid every single time. That tiny cut was causing intermittent signal issues on half my service calls for over a decade. What tipped me off was a newer guy asking why I didn't just use the compression tool's built in stripper. Has anyone else had one of those moments where you find out your old habit was the actual problem all along?
