Finally picked RG6 over RG11 for a 150 foot run in Denver
Had a job last month where the customer wanted cable run from their basement to a second floor office. The distance was pushing 150 feet. My first instinct was to grab RG11 because of less signal loss over long runs. But the problem was the conduit path had two tight 90 degree bends that RG11 would never make without kinking. I went with RG6 quad shield instead and it worked out fine. Put a powered amp at the source just to be safe and the signal came through crystal clear. Still wondering if I should have fought harder to use RG11 and found a different path. Has anyone else dealt with this choice on a long residential run?

Was the powered amp on the input or output side of that long RG6 run?

Honestly, does it even matter at that point?

Maybe it's just me but was the amp even rated for outdoor use on a long RG6 run like that? I'd be more worried about signal loss going through it if it was added wrong.
