Found a cheap way to fish wire through insulated walls
I had a job last week in an older house with blown-in insulation and my standard fish tape kept getting hung up. Tried using a fiberglass rod set but it was too floppy. Ended up taking a long piece of 1/2 inch PVC pipe, cut a slit down one side, and shoved the cable in there. Slipped right through the insulation like a hot knife through butter. Has anyone else tried something like this for tricky attic runs?

Like a hot knife through butter" until that PVC snags and you're pulling drywall off too.

Man that's the worst. Had the same thing happen with a stubborn coupling, ended up taking out a chunk of ceiling texture too.

Oh man, I've been there with a PVC trap that just would not let go!
