Found out the average house has over 400 feet of coax hidden in the walls

I was reading an old trade magazine at a supply house in Sacramento and saw a study from a few years back. They measured a bunch of new builds and found the average was 412 feet of coax per home, even with most people using streaming now. That's a crazy amount of cable just sitting there unused. Makes you think about all the wire we've pulled over the years. Anyone else come across a weird stat like that?

That's wild, but honestly it doesn't seem that crazy to me. They run it everywhere during the rough-in because it's cheap and they don't know where you'll want a TV.

Right, but @miles_fisher, what about future changes?

Ever notice how many things are built for a future that never comes? They put in extra wiring for TVs that might move, but most people just leave them where they are. We end up paying for options we never use.
