Got roasted by a senior installer over my coax prep last Tuesday

Guy I was shadowing in Denver pointed out I was leaving too much dielectric on my compression fittings and said I was basically begging for signal bleed. He made me redo 15 terminations on the spot and showed me his method with a $10 prep tool. Anyone else have a simple habit change that upped your pass rate big time?

The $10 prep tool thing keeps coming up but nobody ever says the brand. @the_anthony what one was it exactly? Because I bought a cheap kit off Amazon and the blade was so dull out of the box it just mashed the dielectric down instead of cutting it clean. Ended up going back to my hook blade and just rotating it every 20 ends. That was the habit that fixed my return loss issues way more than the tool itself. Just swapping blades out before they get grabby.
