Modern fish tape vs the old steel rod method on a 4 story office build
Was running CAT6 through a concrete riser downtown last week and pulled out my new glow in the dark fish tape. Honestly it kept bunching up in the bends and I wasted a solid hour fighting it. Dug my old tempered steel rod out of the truck, the one Ive had since 2009, and had that same pull done in 20 minutes flat. I know the fancy stuff is supposed to save time but for tight vertical paths the stiff rod just has that feel you cant explain. Anyone else stick with the old school rods over the flexible tapes on commercial jobs?
