PSA: Twist your cable on long runs to prevent signal issues
I was on a job last week with a very long cable run, over 150 feet. The customer had internet that kept dropping. An older installer told me to twist the cable every few feet while pulling it. This cuts down on noise and keeps the signal strong. I did it on that job and the signal was great after. Now I make it a habit for long pulls. It adds a little time but stops problems later. Such a simple fix that works well.

Seriously, stress points from twisting? That sounds made up. The original post shows it fixed a real problem with a 150-foot run. When you twist it gently every few feet, it doesn't hurt the cable at all. This method cuts down on noise and keeps the signal strong, which is the whole point. I've seen this work on many installs without any cables failing later. Claiming it adds stress just ignores how well it works in practice.

See it differently. Martinez.kim is right, gentle twists spread the load and stop the cable from moving.
