Remembering an old lady in Akron who offered me a glass of sweet tea on a hot day

I was running a new drop to her house about eight years ago, sweating through my shirt in her backyard. She came out with a tall glass and said, 'Son, you look like you could use a break and some sugar.' That small act of kindness on a routine job always stuck with me. Do you have a favorite memory of a customer who just made your day better?

New drop" is usually a delivery... but I think you meant a new route or delivery route. That's a really nice memory though.

Actually "new drop" is slang for a new product release these days.

Oh man, this is a classic mix-up. "New drop" is totally about product releases, like a sneaker company dropping a new shoe. A delivery route is just the path a driver takes. They sound similar but mean different things. Susan's right about the route part, but the slang is definitely for new stuff coming out.
