Was dead set against using a toner for years, now I actually grab mine every single day.
I kept insisting I could find the right wire by just tracing it visually, but after a 2 hour runaround in a Phoenix attic last week I finally broke down and bought one. Has anyone else had that moment where a simple tool completely changes how you work?

Oh man, that attic story is brutal. Two hours in a Phoenix attic? I would have lost my mind. That's the kind of heat that makes you question every life choice you've ever made. But yeah, once you get the right tool, it's like a whole new world. I fought buying a toner for the longest time too, now I grab mine without even thinking.

Did you try going up there first thing in the morning instead? I had a similar problem in Houston and started going up around 6 AM before the sun really hit the roof. Made a huge difference, still hot but not like you're cooking alive. I also leave a cheap thermometer up there now so I know exactly what I'm walking into.

Wait, two hours? In Phoenix? In an attic? I would have tapped out after like 20 minutes tops. That's next level dedication, or maybe just a really stubborn streak. I did a similar job in Texas once and barely made it 45 minutes before my brain started cooking. You must have come out of there looking like you just got pulled out of a swimming pool. I can't even imagine.
