Can we talk about the dust situation at camera fairs?
I went to the Photorama swap meet in Portland last weekend and I swear every table had lenses caked in grit. One vendor told me he'd been storing everything in a garage for 20 years. How are we supposed to salvage gear that's been breathing in concrete dust and pollen for that long without a full rebuild?

Actually Portland is pretty clean air wise, garage dust is safer than attic mold so grab those deals.

My cousin found a dead raccoon in a Portland garage last summer @robert_bell.

Picked up a Nikon 50mm from a similar garage sale situation and a rocket blower and some lens cleaning solution did the trick, just took a few passes. A soft brush on the barrel before you even touch the glass helps keep that grit from scratching anything up when you wipe it down.
