Found a guy at the Columbus camera show who fixed my sticky aperture for $20
I went to the camera show in Columbus last Saturday just to poke around, and there was this older guy at a folding table with a sign that said "lens cleaning, ask me." I handed him my 50mm with an aperture ring that had been gummed up for months, and he had it breathing again in about 15 minutes with some lighter fluid on a q-tip and a lot of patience. Watching him work the blades open one flick at a time was honestly better than any video I've found online. Has anyone else had luck with the lighter fluid method on old manual glass, or is that asking for trouble down the road?
