Guy at a flea market in Tulsa talked me out of buying a beat up K1000 and I'm still glad about it
Was digging through a crate of bodies at the Riverside swap meet back in April. Found a Pentax that looked decent and the seller wanted $80. Older fellow at the next table leaned over and pointed at the light seals, said they were crumbly as a biscuit and the mirror was sticking. He pulled a small flashlight out and showed me. Sure enough. I passed on it and put that $80 toward a decent set of JIS drivers instead. Now I check every used body with a flashlight before I even ask the price. What's your go to thing to check first on a used body, and has anyone else had a stranger save them from a bad buy at a swap meet?
