Noticed a lot more mirrorless cameras coming in with scratched sensor covers lately

Last month I had three Sony A7 series cameras come through with those thin plastic sensor cover films scratched up from people trying to clean them with dry cloths, has anyone else seen this spike in the shop?

Yikes, I feel personally attacked. I've definitely been that guy scrubbing a sensor with my shirt sleeve and wondering why the dust spots won't budge.

Can we just admit we've all been there at least once? I definitely learned that lesson the hard way too (and honestly, my shirt still has a weird smudge from that sensor panic).

Dropped my lens cap right into a puddle once while trying to clean a filter with my breath, figuring the moisture would help. Ended up making everything worse and had to walk around with these weird foggy spots for the rest of the day. Idk why we all think we can MacGyver our way through camera maintenance when we clearly can't.
