PSA: I dropped $150 on a specialized lens spanner wrench for a single repair and it was worth every penny.
Honestly, trying to get into that weird, tiny Canon FD mount without it would have taken me three hours and a lot of swearing, so has anyone else found a tool that saved their sanity on a one-off job?

Those triangle-head screws are the worst.

Oh man, I feel this. I read a forum post a while back where a guy had to change the thermal paste on some old gaming laptop. The whole thing was held together with these awful triangle-head screws. He bought the driver bit for like twelve bucks online just for that one teardown. Said it was the difference between a clean fix and totally stripping the screw heads. Sometimes you just need the right tool.

It's a bit much to spend that kind of money for one use. A lot of those special fasteners can be worked around with careful use of common tools. I've gotten into plenty of electronics with a small flathead screwdriver instead of buying the exact security bit. Sometimes the "right" tool is just the one you already have and a bit of patience.
