Spent $180 on a vintage lens CLA and it was money well spent

Picked up a 50mm f1.4 from the 70s at a flea market for cheap but the focus was stiff and there was haze inside. Sent it to a guy I found on an old forum for a clean and lube. Cost me $180 but it came back like it was new. Anyone else still bother sending out old glass or do you just do it yourself?

Money well spent" is a stretch in my book. You could have bought a whole new modern 50mm for that price with autofocus and no haze worries. Old glass is cool and all, but $180 on a flea market gamble feels like throwing good money after bad when you can get a perfectly sharp lens for the same cash.

Honestly @wesley181 it's not that deep. People buy dumb stuff all the time for fun, not ROI.
