Spent $75 on a tiny rubber gasket for a 70s Nikon and it was worth every penny

The mirror was sticking on this F2, and the foam bumper had turned to tar. The official part was a nightmare to find, but the new one fixed the mirror slap sound completely. Anyone know a good source for those tiny light seal kits for old SLRs?

Craig.john must be fun at parties. Spending that much on a tiny piece of rubber is wild, but hey, a quiet mirror slap is pure joy.

Man, I used to think that was crazy. Now I get it after fixing my own shutter squeak.

Disagree with that take honestly. Fixing a squeak feels good but it's a basic fix, not some big life lesson. Maybe you just had low expectations.
