That 1976 Pentax I dropped on a granite counter in Denver last month
The prism housing cracked on impact and I spent 4 hours with a jeweler's file realigning the finder frame before I realized the shutter curtain was also dragging... has anyone else had luck with epoxy on old Bakelite parts or should I just look for a donor body?

JB Weld is the only epoxy I trust on Bakelite, and even then only if you rough up the surface with 120 grit first. I fixed a cracked prism housing on a Spotmatic F that way, held for two years until I found a parts body for cheap. The shutter dragging is a bigger issue though, that's not an epoxy fix. You might be better off finding a donor K1000 or even an MX, the mirror box and curtain assembly are basically the same. Check the curtain tension first before you glue anything, if the fabric is wrinkled you're wasting your time.
