Tiny screwdriver swap saved me 2 hours on a Canon shutter repair last night
I was trying to get the shutter timing right on a Canon FTb and kept stripping the tiny adjustment screws with my usual JIS drivers. On a whim I grabbed a set of watchmaker screwdrivers my buddy gave me and they fit perfectly. The heads matched the slots way better and I dialed in the timing on my first real attempt. Has anyone else had luck using watch tools on camera adjustments?

Oh man, that's exactly what happened to me! I was fighting with a Pentax Spotmatic, and those tiny screws just would not cooperate. My regular JIS drivers kept slipping and I was getting so frustrated I almost threw the thing across the room. Then I remembered I had an old eyeglass repair kit and the tiny flathead in there was like magic. It fit so snug I could actually feel the screw move instead of stripping it out. Now I always keep a watchmaker set in my camera bag for those delicate jobs. Have you tried using them on the aperture ring screws too?

My buddy tried using a regular screwdriver on his Nikon and totally stripped the head, had to send it in.
