Vent: Spent $50 on a silicone mat set for sensor cleaning, total waste

Picked up one of those fancy cleaning mat kits from a camera shop in Chicago, figured it would save me on swabs over time. First use, the mat stuck to my shutter curtain and left a residue I spent an hour cleaning off with isopropyl. Anyone else had bad luck with those reusable mats versus just sticking to single-use swabs?

Man that sucks, I feel for you. I had almost the same thing happen with one of those mat kits from a local shop here. The damn thing lifted right off and left this tacky film all over my sensor and shutter. Took me three rounds of cleaning with swabs and methanol to get it off. I threw the mat in the trash after that. Single-use swabs are more expensive but at least they don't ruin your gear. You made the right call going back to them.
