Visited a big camera store in Chicago and their repair counter setup made me question the whole 'open bench' trend.

Open bench" setups actually build a lot of trust for me.

Totally get that. Seeing the guts of the operation makes it feel way more legit.

My last landlord had an "open bench" policy for the apartment's plumbing, which just meant he never fixed the leak under the sink. Trust was not built.
