My 8 year old camp stove finally quit on me in the worst spot, right at dusk
Last weekend I was setting up camp near Estes Park and my old two burner stove just would not light, no click, no nothing, dead as a rock. I fiddled with it for 20 minutes in the dark while my hands got colder and my soup stayed cold. The little piezo starter is what gave out, and of course I had no matches because I have not carried them in 5 years. Ended up cooking on the fire ring like I did back in my 20s, which honestly worked fine and reminded me why I started camping in the first place. Do you all still pack a backup lighter or matches, or have you gone all in on push button stoves like I did?
