My camp sleep went from rough to restful with one gear swap

I always tossed and turned on cold ground until my back ached. Last trip, I tried a thicker foam pad instead of my thin one. I make sure to smooth out any lumps under it before lying down. This small change lets my spine stay straight all night. Now I wake up without stiffness, ready for hiking. Good sleep makes camping trips way more fun and keeps my mood up. Give a dense pad a shot if you struggle with rest outdoors.

All that R-value chat is just noise. A dense pad solves the problem. My back thanks me.

Oh nice, I saw something about how a pad's R-value (its warmth rating) really matters for the cold ground too.

True! Bought a cheap one once, learned that lesson FAST.
