My REI half dome tent went from leaky to dry after I seam sealed it
I bought this tent in 2021 and used it maybe 8 times with no issues. Then last summer on a trip to Yosemite, woke up in a puddle after a light rain. Turns out the factory seal just wears out after a couple years. Finally seam sealed it with the Gear Aid kit last weekend for $12, and tested it in the yard with a hose. No more drips. Anyone else notice their tent suddenly starts leaking after a few seasons?

Oh man, that's rough. I had the exact same thing happen with my old Marmot tent after about three years, it was like the coating just gave up overnight. Waking up in a puddle is the worst feeling, especially on a trip you've been looking forward to. The Gear Aid kit is a lifesaver though, I did the same thing and it held up for years after. Glad you got it sorted out without having to buy a whole new tent.

My buddy had the same thing happen with his REI tent, woke up soaked on a trip to the Grand Canyon. He did the Gear Aid seal too and said it worked like a charm, never leaked again.
