Pro tip: old camping stoves are built way different than new ones

I was down at a flea market in Knoxville last weekend and picked up a 1970s Coleman single burner for 15 bucks. Fired it up this morning and that thing boiled water in like 3 minutes flat without any fancy regulator nonsense. Has anyone else noticed new stoves just don't hold up like the old metal ones used to?

Man those old coleman stoves are tanks. The metal is way thicker and the burners just hit different. I got one from the 80s that still works perfect, my buddy bought a brand new one last year and it already has a dent in the side and the knob feels flimsy. They sure don't make em like they used to.

Wait, you mean they actually make the new ones worse than that? @joel_hall17 that's wild, I would've thought a dent or bent knob would at least hold up for a few years...

Did I buy that same stove or do they just all smell like old bacon grease?
