PSA: I tested a $15 tarp vs a $70 one for 6 months in the rain
Everyone says you gotta spend big on a tarp, but my cheap blue one from the hardware store lasted just as long as my buddy's expensive name-brand one after six months of Pacific Northwest drizzle. The expensive one actually got a pinhole first - guess the hype doesn't always match the reality, right? Anybody else notice their budget gear outlasting the premium stuff?

Did you have them both staked down the same way, or was the fancy one maybe getting more wind stress in a different spot?

Is it really that big of a deal though, @adamthompson? I mean, they're just plants in the ground, not a science experiment...

Had a neighbor once who planted identical tomatoes on opposite sides of his yard. One thrived, one died. He spent two weeks arguing with the soil before realizing his dog was peeing on the dead one every morning. @fiona985 might be onto something about not overthinking it, but sometimes you gotta check for the dog factor.
