Tried that cheap rainfly from Amazon. Big mistake.
Bought a $25 rainfly off Amazon last week. Looked fine in the package. First night out at Blackwater Creek, it leaked through the seams by 2am. Woke up in a puddle with my sleeping bag soaked. Learned my lesson - spend the extra $40 for a name brand one. Anyone have a good seam sealer they trust?

Man, I feel your pain. I had the same thing happen with a cheap rainfly a few years back, woke up soaked and freezing. For seam sealing, I've had good luck with Gear Aid Seam Grip. That stuff is thick and sticks well, just make sure you apply it on a dry day and let it cure for 24 hours. Did you try to return the Amazon one or just toss it?

Gear Aid is solid stuff but make sure you shake it like crazy first. Learned that the hard way when my tarp looked like a Jackson Pollock painting.
